As an employee of Mental Health
Partners (MHP), the following fringe benefits are afforded to those
employed in a full-time position:
Retirement: All employees assigned to work 20 hours
per week or more in a benefited position participate in the NC Local
Governmental Employees’ Retirement System (NCLGERS). Employees are fully
vested after five years of contributing service.
Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King
Jr. Birthday, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and three days for Christmas.
Annual Leave (Vacation Leave): Full-time employees

may purchase up to 80 hours of unused, paid annual leave from a previous
employer.
Paid Sick Leave: Full-time employees earn one day
(eight hours) of sick leave per month, with the unused accumulation
applying toward retirement benefits after meeting basic retirement
qualifications.

(in arrears). Direct deposit is required.
Longevity Pay Supplement: After five years of
creditable service, employees, receive an annual longevity payment that
rewards length of service to MHP.
Health Care: MHP, through a contractual arrangement
with Catawba County offers a choice of 3 health care plans:
• The “Core Plan” provides lower dependent premiums,
100% paid preventive services, higher prescription costs and 80/20
payments after a $1000 deductible.
• The Health Savings Account (HSA) Plan is a
tax-advantaged medical savings account paired with a High Deductible
Health Plan. Funds contributed to the account via the payroll deduction
process are not subject to federal income tax at the time of deposit.
Unlike a flexible spending account (FSA), funds roll over and accumulate
year to year if not spent. HSA funds may be used to pay for qualified
medical expenses at any time without federal tax liability or penalty.
This plan also has 100% paid preventive services, and 90/10 payments
after the $1200 deductible.
• The “Buy-Up Plan” provides office visit and
prescription co-pays, and 90/10 payments after a $750 deductible.
Benefits are provided, at no cost to regular employees that choose
the Core or HSA plan and are scheduled to work 40 hours per week.
Employees that choose the Buy-Up plan pay a portion of the individual
premium. Coverage is available for eligible dependents on all three
plans subject to the current group rates. The Health Care plans also
include a drug and a vision plan.
Dental Care: At no cost to employees, MHP provides
for 100% of twice annual preventive care procedures and, after an annual
deductible, the plan pays 80% of routine procedures and 50% of
non-routine procedures up to an annual $1200 maximum. Coverage is
available, at current group rates, for eligible dependents.
Life Insurance: Death Benefit of one times annual
salary (with a minimum $25,000) is provided by MHP through the NCLGERS.
